Frankly, I have no idea what might be accomplished. And I'm not convinced
that working on this for another year the right thing to do either. I was
simply posing a theoretical question in response to the statement suggesting
that if the committee's recommendation wasn't pursued now that all hope of
EVER developing another recreation/pool project would be lost.
I, like others who are raising questions, appreciate the fact that the
committee and others have spent a great deal of time working on this and
that it must be frustrating for committee members to have put in all this
time, made a decision and still have citizens expressing concerns about that
decision.
The democratic process can be painfully slow and deliberate. And all too
often hard work on issues or projects we believe in doesn't result in what
we had hoped for.
But I, for one, believe that frank and open discussion should always be
encouraged, regardless of how pointless it may seem at any given time on any
given subject. Consider the alternative...
