Moscow's proposed swimming pool

First, I am writing as a private citizen. What I write is my personal
opinion, and not that of my employer.

If the proposal for an outdoor-only city pool becomes a bond ballot measure,
then I look forward to voting AGAINST it!

I hope the way will be found, at the bare minimum, at tonight's or a future
Council meeting, to provide for an indoor-outdoor, year-around swimming
facility.

If such cannot be built, initially, than at least develop it as a staged
project, such that if Stage One is outdoor-only, then it is engineered for
an ensuing, follow up additions which enable year-around use.

I believe in fostering "physical education" for life-long fitness, in the
Moscow Public School system. While I am a strong competitor to be the
world's worst swimmer, I do believe it is very pertinent as a low-impact,
all-season workout sport, to be fostered in Moscow's youth, our adults of
the future.

I believe a City swimming facility should enable swimming education for
youth as part of the public school system, throughout the academic year, as
well as provide both educational opportunities and workout for adults.

The outdoor-only facility just doesn't cut it for me. I DO NOT WANT TO
SPEND less MONEY FOR THAT. I'd rather spend more of my, precious, tax money
for a more encompassing public, water-sport facility in Moscow.

Okay, now I step off my soap box.

Thank you,
