Included in the legislation is a line item of $200,000 to fund the LiLi
Data Base. The additional funding will come from the Educational
Technology Grant for the Dept. of Education. This will total
about $365,000.
The Lili Data Base will permit over 800 public library units in the
state access the program. This means that rural libraries, school
libraries, elementary school libraries, university libraries, etc. will
now have access to over 12,000 research journals and other sources
of material. This will also result in saving on the purchasing of very
expensive research journals for certain libraries. This is the
Governor's bill so I don't think we'll have any trouble with him
signing it.
