Many of them are presently sitting in front of frozen computer terminals,
waiting 45 minutes to even enter their user I.D.; this is about 15
minutes longer than they waited yesterday.
Once they get the prompt, it is another 10 minutes to the password
prompt; then another waiting period to enter the chosen program.
Yesterday, this NTD (non- traditional student) waited over an hour;
today
I waited over an hour and finally left. I'm willing to spend hours
finding a problem in a computer program, but not hours sitting in front of
a blank terminal.
While we observe that Moscow is indeed built upon an educational
'industry', how many students are deciding to transfer elsewhere next
year?? That thought certainly crossed my mind this morning.
One can only wonder about the 'innovative' decision to double class sizes
in coming years.....
As I looked at the hundreds of thousands of dollars-worth of equipment
virtually unusable today, I wondered.......why.
Since the faculty computers appear to be working quite well, maybe one of
