I've had some feedback from my earlier posting on the pool options that
leads me to believe I wasn't as clear as I should have been.

I think the pool committee has done a valiant job of seeking and evaluating
public comments on what we want in a pool. They took those and developed
several options. However, it is at this point that I think more public
discussion is needed--in evaluating the specific options so that the pool
committee knows which option(s) to recommend to the council. I think the
mall and library displays were important, but I think they probably drew a
skewed sample. I also think people need to hear from other people about why
they like a particular option. But, as I've said, I don't think we can even
have this discussion until all the costs are presented to us, and that, I
don't think, is the responsibility of the pool committee.

I would like to see some public forums where the pool options can be
discussed. And I particularly would like to see data gathered from the
community about what option they would support in a reliably gathered and
tabulated manner.
