Linear Park plans: a "heads up" from Suvia Judd

Suvia Judd asked me to post the following . . .

The Moscow Linear Park Committee held a public meeting on December 11 to
present its three alternative plans for the parcel of land donated by
Katrina Berman. Unlike earlier gatherings, this meeting was not well
attended.

Suvia is concerned that none of the three plans takes into account the
natural contours and other features of the land parcel. For example, she
interprets the plans as showing that the existing floodplain will be
regraded and filled with dirt rather than used for spillover; mature willow
trees will be replaced with new berms; and a commonly used trail will be
removed.

The committee has done a first class job in getting public input up to this
point. Suvia asks all those who are interested in the final, 11th hour
decisions to call Randy Rice or Roger Blanchard at the Moscow Parks and Rec
Department, or Becky Chastain who is facilitating the planning process.

Apologies if I've misrepresented the plans. I haven't seen them myself,
and will be SO glad when Suvia gets on-line!
