Accessibility is possible if we view it in broader terms than proximity.
Maybe we need to get Wheatland Express in on this planning process so that
kids could take public transportation--at a reasonable cost.
As for those who want to forego the "cave-like" atmosphere of UI, I think
that's the easiest part of the process. The Ellensburg city pool as glass
doors opening onto grass. The design itself is atrium-like with wonderful
wooden beams. The King County Aquatic Center also has loads of glass doors
that open onto grassy areas. If you want a cave--try the Whitman College
pool in Walla Walla.
