I suppose that we are required to hold an election when there is no
honorable opposition. It does seem like a waste of resources. If we must,
then why do we allow this opportunity to pass us by? Why not use this kind
of an election to poll popular opinion on what ever current issues are
before us. I, for one, would have loved to see the pool questions put out
as an advisory vote. How about the Whitworth building? Even, dare I say
it, roundabouts?
