Jack,
The building is a cultural resource for the community--its design lends
itself to myriad possible adaptive reuses--if the city adopts it and
respectfully adapts it, the city has made an enlightened decision. It is too
bad that the school district never made the commitment to use and
restore/adapt this wonderful building. Nonetheless I hope a happy solution
(win-win) results. I know Nels Reese and Wendy McClure have spent
considerable effort in explaining the value of the building and in exploring
its potential.
