Some bicyclists will ride both directions, others may ride out only to the
site where she was killed (near mile 6). People are encouraged to leave a
flower at the site of the accident. Deborah's husband Ralph suggests that
riders wear red arm bands. Motorists are encouraged to participate by
driving with their lights on during this memorial to support bicycle safety
and to remember Deborah Budwig. Bicyclists will wear helmets and obey all
traffic rules.
Some needs that we have include:
* Making publicity signs
* Making "Bicycles on the road" signs
* Making signs for motorists to drive with their lights on
* Helping with starting riders at each end
* Support vehicles (1-2 vans and pick-up trucks) for riders needing assistance
Thanks,
Tom Lamar
