Matt, could you forward this to Vision2020. I got a delivery failure
notification. --Leigh

Just to add to Tom Trail's comments.
Letters for the candidates' forums were sent out October 4th. We
decided that we wanted the forums on weekday nights at 7:00 (Fridays
excluded) to maximize the number of listenters. Since we were trying
to schedule five forums, and we did not want to conflict with other
local forums, presidential TV debates and certain other KUOI programs
deemed important, we had a limited number of choices.
The week of October 7th, I spoke with Mr. Trail, and he told me he
felt he could get more votes by canvassing on the night of the 24th.
I told him that if his opponent agreed, I would try to schedule for
another night. I asked him what other nights he might be available
before the election, and he told me only Sunday, November 3rd.
When I got ahold of Mr. Trail's opponent, Vera White, she told me
that November 3rd would not work for her.
Next time, I do plan on considering Mr. Trail's suggestion that I
try to work out dates with all candidates before sending out
invitations, but I expect if it's a busy election year our time slot
choices will again be limited. (Although I would be willing to do a
radio forum Nov 3 as a last resort, I consider that date a little too
close to the election.)
I'm sorry if the times were not convenient for all candidates, as
I sincerely did want everyone to participate.
