UI architecture and landscape architecture students have just started a
design project in conjunction with Latah County and Moscow Planning
commissions to explore sustainable land use and development options. Student
teams are working on (4) prototypical sites- (2) in the area of impact and
(2) in the rural zone. The rural zone sites include Joel to illustrate a
rural village concept and appro. 470 contiguous acres of mixed forest and
agricultural land to demonstrate the county's draft ordinance. We invite
interested Vision 2020 members to participate and share ideas with the
students. Mid- point critique of master plans is scheduled for Oct. 2,
