Subject: Re: P&Z mtg Wed

via the EDC I saw the proposed plat for the business park. I suppose a
version was in the paper also. Two issues of note:
1. They are proposing a new road access from the Troy hwy onto the site, a
bit east of the Sears bldg entrance to the hwy from the Eastside
Marketplace. (Shelly B has indicated that she is considering closing that
entrance to the EM--to reduce thru traffic i think.) For phase I of the BP,
this is the ONLY access road. A later phase, not for consideration on the
24th, extends the BP behind Tidyman's to Blaine. As a neighbor who watched
the traffic snarls and accidents when Tidyman's opened, adding another
access to the Troy hwy seems like a poor idea. Esp when the developer owns
the land from Blaine to the site and from mt view rd to the site.
2. There is a linear park proposed along the northern border of the project
(under the power lines, just next to the RR tracks). This is similar to the
green strip along Travois to the west. There is also a park (a 1 acre lot)
designated. The park and the linear park are not adjacent to one
another--which seems silly. Much better if the two parks were joined. To
the developer's credit, there is a public path dedicated from the center of
the site to the east edge of the tidyman's parking lot-- for lunch visitors
to the deli.

If youare not going to the p&z mtg, I'd suggest that singer/songwriter
Libby Roderick is playing at the Unitarian Church, cosponosred by the
Palouse FOlklore Soc. Listen for Libby live on Peter's show tues nite.
