Tom Bartuska has asked me to post the following:

Robert Gilman will speak at WSU about "Pathways to a Sustainable Future"
on Wednesday, Feb. 28. He'll be at a reception at 4:30 p.m. at the
Lewis Alumni Centre and give a lecture from 7:30 to 9 p.m. in Room T-101
of the Food Science & Human Nutrition Building (the WHETs lecture hall).

Gilman received his Ph.D. in astrophysics from Princeton. Since 1975,
he has studied sustainability, futures and strategies for positive
cultural change. He is the founding editor and publisher of the journal
"In Context." His background includes innovation theory, sustainable
economics and appropriate technology. "Drawing on experiences from around
the globe, Dr. Gilman will explore the essential changes -- in ourselves, our
communities and our institutions -- that could lead us to a humane and
sustainable world."

For more information, contact Colette DePhelps or Gail Harris at 335-0183.
Gilman's visit is sponsored by the Center for Sustaining Agriculture and
the College of Agriculture and Home Economis at WSU.
