I would agree that the way that future streets are developed in this
area of town is critical. The Moscow P&Z Commission is currently working on
the transportation chapter of the Moscow Comprehensive Plan. This chapter
contains plans for future arterial streets in the area around Moscow. I
will try to get Dale Pernula to post the latest draft of this chapter to the
Vision2020 list. (Dale -- would you post it, or do you want me to?)

The area that Lori is talking about presents difficult topography
problems because of some very steep hills. Our plans at the moment call for
6th street to eventually be extended to the east, looping around the big new
house on the hilltop, and swinging to the north and finally northwest to
connect to Mountain View near the present NW corner ot Mt View park. This
loop arterial, whatever it's parts are eventually named, should interconnect
with the extensions of 3rd, Moser, D, and F Streets. When completed, such a
street would make major changes in traffic flow patterns in the area.
Lori's suggestions are consistent with this larger plan.

The P&Z Commission will hold a public hearing on the traffic chapter
on February 28th.
