Bearing Witness to a Crime

A crime has been committed on Hwy 95 by Palouse River Drive.
The ***massive*** cut and fill of the parcel of land
on the West side of the highway is, of course, fully legal
and sanctioned by the City of Moscow. But the legality
of the act makes it no less a crime against the Palouse and
against Mother Earth.

In some counties in California, this crime against the Earth
would also be illegal. Other communities have realized that
development can be in *harmony* with the landscape. Such
a realization continues to elude us here on the Palouse.

This massive hemorrhaging and scarring of the Palouse will provide
room for the most architecturally impovished apartments
Moscow developers can muster.

As visionaries, we attempt to see, and to help create the future
we want for this community. I encourage all to visit the site of
this crime. Look. Feel. Weep. That piece of the Palouse is
gone forever. We are all accomplices in this crime.
