Latah County rural residential zoning

The Nov. 22 Daily News carries a half-page ad on page 4A from the Latah
County Planning Commission seeking public participation to "help design
your county." The ad includes small sketches of six different concepts
for residential development outside of incorporated cities:
* fields and forests
* rural subsdivisions
* occasional farmsteads
* 10-acre ranchettes
* small clusters
* 5-acre plats
The ad is part of a public education effort by the Planning Commission and
includes an offer for a planning commissioner to meet with any group of 10
or more. Moscow Vision 2020 has agreed to sponsor a public meeting with
one or more commissioners on Monday, Dec. 11, at 7:30 p.m. at the Moscow
Community Center. The ideas will also be discussed at the Moscow Planning &
Zoning Commission on Dec. 13.

I understand that copies of the ad were to be available for people who don't
subscribe to the Daily news... perhaps Tom Schauer from the county planner's
office could tell us where these can be picked up.

I think the drawings and the text frame the issues well, and I commend the
Planning Commission for this innovative attempt at public involvement.
Watch for more details of the proposals on this list before the Dec. 11
meeting.
