MOSCOW VISION 2020 PUBLIC FORUM ANNOUNCED
Moscow Vision 2020 will host a public forum to discuss
the city's proposed Business Office Park on Sunday, November 5th.
Larry Hodge, member of both the Moscow City Council and the
Economic Development Council (EDC), will make a presentation on behalf of
the EDC, announced Priscilla Salant, steering committee member
and spokesperson for the 2020 group. The forum will take place
in the Moscow High School Foyer (Third Street Entrance) from
7:00 to 8:30 p.m.
Plans for the Business Park have been underway for several years
to provide business space for technology-based companies to relocate
after graduating out of the Business Technology Incubator located
on Sweet Avenue.
According to Salant, "The November 5th forum is intended to give
Moscow citizens an opportunity to learn more about plans for the
proposed business park, and to discuss its implications for local
growth and development." Among the issues to be addressed
will be park financing, including infrastructure costs (for example,
streets, water, and sewer) and tax allocation district financing,
in addition to exploring the experiences of similar communities with
business parks.
Moscow Vision 2020 is an informal, non-profit group founded in July
of 1993. Its goals are to promote creative thinking about Moscow's
future and to encourage citizen involvement in planning. The Sunday
evening meeting is free and open to the public.
