I had the same question. I just haven't had time to research.
If this is what I think it is, it is the land adjacent to Woodland
Hills and Eastman Acres. A couple of years ago, a developer
tried to rezone and build an urban type development out there.
Local residents hired Andrew Schwam to represent them and
successfully thwarted the proposed development. The proposal
was unanimously rejected by both the P&Z and the Commissioners.
It was a bad idea then...and it is (probably) still a bad idea
now. The wildcard in this is whether the developer is offering to
build/revamp the residents' water supply system out there
which is already very marginal. The last time around, the
residents did not want the development hooking into their
system and they feared that if the new development didn't hook
into their system, additional wells would further
deplete their own water supply.
