steering committee

Dear Visionaries,

The steering committee selected last fall for the 1995 included
Priscilla Salant, Suvia Judd, and Kenton Bird (Jan-Jun), Susan Palmer
(Jul-Dec). Suvia has since joined the Latah County Planning Commission,
and has not been able to participate on the MV2020 steering committee.

I am posting this to solicit volunteers who would be willing to
serve out the remainder of this term (through December) as a
steering committee member, and even perhaps for next year. I am
ever-mindful of sex-based composition, and encourage men to round
out this steering committee. However, all are welcome to respond.

The duties of a steering committee member include planning and advertising
monthly meetings, talking to members of the media, and linking with
other organizations who invite representatives of Moscow Vision 2020
to speak about our organization's history and purpose. There is
also the occasional letter to the editor on those rare occasions
when information is distorted and needs clarification. :-) Although
the steering committee members communicate regularly (1-3 times per
week) via e-mail or phone. We meet together only about once a month.

Compared to other volunteer work that I do, Moscow Vision 2020
generally takes less time, and tends to be energy-generating rather
than energy-depleting.

If you're interested, please respond to the list and/or to me
personally.

I look forward to hearing from you,
Susan
