Economist Tom Powers from the University of Montana will be making a
presentation tonight at 7:30 pm, Room 10 of the College of Forestry,
Wildlife and Range Sciences Building at U of I. He'll be speaking on "The
Economics of Wildland Preservation: Looking Beyond Commerical Recreation
and the Commodity Warehouse." Tom's new book, "Extraction and the
Environment: the Economic Battle for Control of Our Natural Landscape,"
will be published in December.
