PRESS RELEASE:

MOSCOW VISION 2020 PUBLIC MEETING SCHEDULED

Jon Miller, economics professor at the University of Idaho, will
present the findings of his growth study to the first fall meeting
of Moscow Vision 2020. The meeting will be held at the University
of Idaho Library fourth floor conference room, on Monday evening,
September 11, at 7:00 p.m..

Professor Miller recently conducted a study on growth for the City
of Moscow. "Moscow is a third level place in this spatial economic
hierarchy, dominated economically by Spokane and to a lesser extent
by Lewiston," reports Miller. He adds that, "Growth in health services
and retail trade has expanded Moscow's role as a regional center itself."

"Dr. Miller's study will provide an excellent opportunity for community
members to anticipate what we can expect to happen locally in terms
of growth, and to determine the role ordinary citizens will want to
play in Moscow's development," said Susan Palmer, a steering committee
member of Moscow Vision 2020.

The Moscow Vision 2020 meeting is open to the public at no charge.
Moscow Vision 2020 is a non-profit citizens' action group dedicated
to encouraging community residents to think about their future.
