the Latah County Commissioners decided this afternoon to turn down the
Cameron Farms' application for a rezone and Comprehensive Plan
amendment. The application, had it been approved, would have enabled
the company to divide 80 acres north of Moscow into 5 acre lots.
The commissioners hadn't considered a Comp. Plan amendment before, so
the process was somewhat confusing. However, they stuck to the letter
of the plan, and the rules regarding rezones and amendments to make
their decision. The issue that seemed to bother them most about the
application was potential conflicts with existing agricultural land use.
I'd be happy to answer any questions any one has on this, but that's my
report for now!
