I want to call 2020 subscribers' attention to a Forum in August's issue of
Harper's magazine titled: "What are we doing on line? A heated debate about
a hot medium." It is a transcript of a panel discussion featuring John
Perry Barlow, Sven Birkerts, kevin Kelly and Mrk Slouka. They discuss
implications for society of the Internet. Especially interesting are actual
excerpts from on-line texts, including several from the Internet Addiction
Support Group. (Do you know anyone who fits that description?)
