Vision 2020's copy of the video: "Subdividing the West: Implications of
Population Growth." has been loaned to the Latah County planner's office,
where it is available for 24-hour check-out to interested citizens.
Anyone who missed Thursday's 2020 meeting and would like to see it is
encouraged to do so.
The video lasts about 50 minutes and is based on a conference at Colorado
State University last year. Although its primary emphasis is Colorado,
a lot of the information is relevant to rural areas of Washington and Idaho.
There's quite a bit on rural-urban interface and the effect of rural
subdivisions on wildlife and ecosystems. The video is mostly talking
heads but there are some interesting graphics that illustrate population
trends.
