Dear Visionaries,
The recent exchange of comments re. Newt Gingrich has not been fun
for me. This exchange suggests the need for a collect agreement to
avoid name calling, sarcasism, and accusation as minimum
prerequisites for an open discussion of the issues. This agreement
will make the conversation more civil and allow more time to focus on
the issues at hand. I am asking for your help to join with me in
establishing and maintaining this agreement. My "vision2020" is for
an open and free flowing discussion of the issues as a way to search
for truth and common ground with respect and dignity.
On another matter, the Lincoln Institute of Land Policy publishes a
newsletter called "LandLines." The lead story in the March issue is
"Sprawl or ...What? Conference to Debate Alternative Visions of
Metropolitan Growth" (March 22, W.D.C.). Other items are simialarly
interesting in this subject matter area. To get on the mailing list
of the LILP, I would suggest sending an e-mail message to
lincolnpubs@igc.apc.org.
Sincerely,
Steve Cooke
