a couple of billsof interest to us...
HB191, extending Development Impact fees, i.e. the ability to impose
them, throughout the state instead of only in Boise, as is the current
law. I haven't seen the bill, so I can't attest to its true content. As
of this morning, its in House Revenue and Taxation. I think we want to
show strong support for Impact fees.

HB214, to force election of Boise city council members by districts.
This bill is offered by Richard B. Smith, Boise mega-developer in an
effort to force out progressive city council members Paula Forney and Ann
Hausrath. The legislature should not be allowed to dictate how cities
choose to be governed, and we need to stand by our own. This one's in
Local Gov't committee.

Call your legislators, 1-800-626-0471 or 208-334-2000.

I'll have copies of both bills tomoro.
