The first, at 8:00 p.m., is a request to rezone 83 acres from agriculture/
forestry to rural residental (permitting 5-acre minimum lot sizes).
The second, at 8:10 p.m., is to amend the comprehensive plan (just adopted in D
ecember) to change the parcel from Productive (i.e., productive agriculture)
to rural. (It seems to me that the plan amendment should come first, but
it appears both requests will be heard simultaneously).
The general location is approximately 1 1/2 miles north of the Moscow city
limits, north of the intersection of Mountain View Road and Idler's Rest Road.
Existing use is non-irrigated agriculture, meadow land, grazing.
In the narrative accompanying its application, Cameron Frarms proposes to
subdivide the parcel into 12 6- to 10-acre parcels for rural residences.
So far, letters opposing the application have been received by Albert and
Marjory Stage of West Twin Rd. and Barry Willis, who purchased a 40-acre
parcel from the Camerons in October of 1994. Both letters are contained
in the packet of material for the meeting and would be good to look at
if you are considering writing a letter or speaking at the public hearing.
I will take the packet to the Moscow Public Library today and place it
with the notebook of 2020 material so anyone can look at it before
Wednesday evening.
If you can't attend, written comments can be submitted to Gerard Billington
c/o the County Planner's office. Short letters submitted before 5 p.m.
Wednesday will be read into the hearing record if the writer requests.
Others on the list may be more familiar with this request... among them
Greg Brown. Stephanie Tovey and Gary Machlis are among the neighbors
who spoke against the proposal when it was originally submitted in 1993.
