The first meeting is tomorrow (Wednesday, Feb. 22) at 7 p.m. at
Jefferson School, NW 1150 Bryant Street (on Military Hill behind
Dissmore's).
The meetings will be on successive Wednesdays at 7 p.m. through April 5.
For a schedule and more details call City Planner Pete Dickinson at
334-4555, extension 279.
A flier from the city says that these will be informal meetings, and
comments can be submitted either orally or in writing. People need
not attend the meeting in their own neighborhood.
Are there any Pullman subscribers to this list who would be able to
attend? PCEI is trying for a good showing of Pullman folks at the first
meeting because:
a. It will probably be the only one covered by the Daily News.
b. It will set the tone for the meetings to follow.
I would hope that one topic that would be raised is WSU's plan to increase
its Pullman enrollment by 10,000 students (to 25,000) by the year 2015.
That kind of growth will have significant effects on water consumption,
traffic, housing and quality of life, not only in Pullman but throughout
Whitman and Latah counties. Has WSU considered the effects on the community
of that kind of increase?
Moscow folks, spread the word on these meetings to your Pullman friends and
colleagues.
Thanks,
KENTON
