vision20/20 folks,
It is my understanding that after yesterdays meeting of the city council
that the decible level for live music in the park had been limited to 75
decibles at the parks edge, even with a permit. Instead of the city
council having to vote on this the ordinances was simply change therefore
requireing no vote.
Isn,t it enough that there is alsready less than nothing to do in moscow
that we have residence who for 10 days out of the year cannot and will
not tollerate some cultural diversity in there narrow little lives?
I was talking with Kris Seiss yesterday evening and he is not giving up
the fight. He suggests that a large group of people join together and go
to the city council to propose building an accoustical fence/wall on the
side of the park where these complaints are steming. He suggests that if
these people volenteer there time to build the wall and then have some
children and local artisans from the community paint murrals on it. If
this were to be refused it would then appear that the source of the
complaint is not interested in supporting the community but that rather
he was able to influence sertain members of the council in order to
satisfiy his own needs and not actually those of his surrounding
neighbors and community.
This may then open another can of worms.
What can we do to help insure that future actions halting concerts
altogether does not happen?
p.s. 75 decibles at parks edge is about the noise level of "passing
traffic or a slow moving train".
