Given the success of this listserver, I would very strongly suggest to
Suvia that she include some sort of possibility of using the Internet for
public participation.
Since she isn't able to get involved with this type of communication, I
hope that she will talk to Greg Brown, who set up this listserver at the U
of I. And I hope that she will talk to John Teeter who is constructing a
community based Internet resource for our region.
This form of communication is only going to grow. Some day, the
universities will allow their clients to have world wide web access, and
more sophisticated forms of communication with this group will be possible,
and that can also be part of the public participation process.
No, electronic communication is not everything. But it is an important thing.
I hope that Moscow 20/20 will build on their success here.
