I remember going over the goals of v2020 when I first signed up
with the list. They are pretty well founded and reasonable. They
mostly had to do with process and getting people more informed.
All seemed to indicate that planning for the future is a good thing.

A deeper question is; what kind of future we are planning toward?
It seems that the day-to-day (list) traffic is primarily announcements of
meetings or openings on boards and such. All well and good, and
reaching toward some of the goals; but again, whats the long
range objectives (not of v2020 particularly, but of the individuals) for
the community?

Will it continue to be UofI dominated?
Will the population boom?
Will it continue to be fragmented?
Will spread out forever or up?
Do we want to be forever routing artery traffic through downtown?
What level of private .vs. public sector growth should be encouraged?
Who is making the $'s off the growth?
When will they fix the danged roads and deal with the traffic congestion?

I guess what I'm asking is; What do the people of v2020 feel about
these (and other) things?

It would seem that there is a history of common understanding which
the pre-list-folks may have that we newbies haven't been exposed to
yet?
