Public Transit innovation

Has anyone seen the trolley that Wheatland Express is operating on a
circuit around WSU as an experiment this month? It's 25 cents a ride
and makes a loop every 15 minutes.

In addition to the campus loop, it runs to downtown Pullman at lunch
time and stops at 5 restaurants. Wouldn't something similar at UI
cut down on the lunchtime traffic along Sixth Street?

Wasn't one of the ideas from the UI long-range planning committee to
have a trolley that ran back and forth along Sixth Street from Main
to Perimeter Drive? How many vehicles could we keep off the road
if we had something like that?

I'd be interested in impressions from anyone who has experience
with something similar on other campuses.
