A strong second to lisa. I too remember when the plan was to remove the
building. It would have been a loss then, and now that its re-hab'ed and
available at-large to the community, it would be a loose to un-re-hab-it.

Anyway, cubicals would be a bit strange with those high ceilings...mighty
tall and skinny....bet they'd have to hang false tops on them to keep the
inhabitants sane.

Howdy, folks. I was around when the Old Post Office was in danger of
demolition, and the Seniors and the newly-formed Palouse Folklore Society
(mostly the Seniors) fought to keep it and turn it into a community
center. I do NOT think it should be reconverted to offices. It is a
great and lovely space, very accessible to downtown, and the city quite
frankly didn't want it back then, had no ideas about how to keep our
place, and I don't think it's such a great idea to lose it. Put the
offices in the HS building with the rest of the offices; that would seem
to be more efficient anyway.

The community center may nt be very big, but it is very gorgeous. Let's
keep it. It'd be a waste to turn it into cubicles.
